Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray died Saturday morning, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed. Murray was 28.
The cause of death has not been released.
Murray withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday due to an undisclosed illness. He was 7 over par through 11 holes of the first round when he withdrew.
Murray had two PGA Tour victories, the 2017 Barracuda Championship and the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic. He also had seven top-10 finishes in his career.
"We are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Grayson Murray," Monahan said in a statement. "Grayson was a rising star in our game and a valued member of the PGA Tour family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and everyone who knew him."
